Getting in shape, regardless of what the media tells you, requires work. Watching what you eat is only part of the equation and making sure you get physical activity is important, not just for weight, but for your overall health. Getting exercise in, however, can be exceedingly difficult. Where some people get up and are ready for a good sweat, others need more than just a little coercion to work up even a slightly elevated heartbeat. Gyms have cropped up in cities and towns all over the globe to offer people an option in terms of having access to machine and other equipment. For those who are homebodies it may be time to compare a total gym workout versus a workout at 24 hour fitness.

It comes down to a person's preferences and their ability to maintain a schedule of hard work. Going to a gym offers a variety of different machines for both cardio and weight lifting that can engage those who tire easily from doing the same things all the time.

Classes, pools, and access to personal trainers can make 24 hour fitness seem like the perfect choice to get your body in shape. The reality, however, is that people who purchase gym memberships which are quite expensive, rarely go.

It would be abnormal for most gym goers to make it at least three times a week. This is because life is full of excuses that make creating time to get in the car and drive out to the gym an easy thing to skip. Plus, even if there are hundreds of different machines, people will invariably stick to the same ones.

It can feel like those who don't go are lazy, but it's more than that. It can be a huge hassle to go to the gym and this is where the Total gym really shines. Also, all the talk about variety is inherent in this vary machine.

The construction involves a platform that you sit, lay, and lean on alternately while engaging a number of different pulleys and levers to engage all of your muscles in different ways. You don't have to drag yourself down to the club when you can just get on your home machine and work out whenever you like.

Having access to a good workout at home can be the difference between exercising and giving up. There is no reason to waste money on memberships that are rarely, if ever used, and commit yourself to something worthwhile and budget friendly.
