With so many holidays and half term breaks throughout the course of the year it is imperative that families booking holiday deals away during these periods choose something everyone is going to enjoy. The decision can be particularly complicated if groups include children of different ages, who despite a gap of just a few years may have wildly differing views on what is and isn't fun. The solution is to pick an all purpose destination, perhaps on the Spanish Costa's, where there is something for all whether old, young or a typical sun loving beach bum.

Families have been heading to Benidorm in the school holidays for over 40 years now and this is because the resort is well-catered to the family market. The Costa Blanca has many tourist friendly towns and beaches and travellers are never far from the best waterparks, shopping malls and theme parks, such as Terra Mitica.

At Terra Mitica the rides are located in different areas that are modelled on ancient civilisations around the world. I think it's fair to say that holidaymakers will soon be searching for holiday deals back to Benidorm, once they've had one experience of the rides of Egypt, Greece, Rome and Iberia. The major rides will definitely appeal to older kids and definitely those with a strong stomach, while younger children will find plenty of suitable rides.

There are some excellent hotels and holiday resorts on the island of Lanzarote. This destination is just perfect for families with younger children and toddlers looking for a quieter beach break, The jagged coasts of this little volcanic islands feature some pristine beaches, including those made from black sand.

Visitors should look at YouTravel for hotels that are within easy reach of the beaches and child-friendly attractions, such as Rancho Texas which contains a host of interesting animals from alligators and iguanas to white tigers.
