Many people look at internet marketing and ask one main question, "Is the building of email lists and using them as important and successful as it was a few years ago?" Has this era died, only to be replaced with a new one, or is it still in full force?

Yes list building was a very good tool to promote goods in the early years of the internet but that was a long time ago.

So back to the burning question, is it worth trying to build an email list to start promoting services and products online? Do people even read the emails they receive anymore, or do they stay unread or deleted?

Well opinions seem to differ on this but most of the online internet marketers still agree that this is still a very good tool to have when you are trying to sell anything online.

You could say that the main advantage of building email lists that you can use is that it is a great way to get to know your potential customers and get them to trust you. By being trustworthy you are more likely to convince people that the products and services that you are selling will really benefit them in some way.

Studies have shown believe it or not that people seem to forget a lot quicker than they used too. This means that if you do not keep reminding them of your products they may well forget about you. Your email list is a great way for you to keep jogging their memory.

Many people like to have as much information as they can handle when checking out potential purchases. This is why the RSS readers have become so popular. If you are able to give them all the information they need by email then you may be on to a winner and a possible sale which is good for business.

So in short the answer to the question that everybody is always asking is a resounding yes. There are still a lot of advantages that can be had from building your own mailing list and being able to send out your marketing campaigns via these email lists.
