Going on a picnic is so exciting and allows you to relax and have more time with family or friends. Since this is an outdoor activity, people usually pack their things including food, utensils and light furniture such as a folding table.

Round tables are slightly harder to make than the traditional rectangular picnic table. You will need to do a lot more measuring and cutting. Instead of each piece being the same size, you'll have two of each different size. The larger the table, the more pieces you will need. And the more pieces you use, the more opportunities for mistakes. Also, the traditional picnic bench may not work as well with a round table. You'll either need to make or buy chairs.

Having a versatile piece of outdoor furniture such as folding, double-bench picnic table is very convenient. This can ensure a great weekend activity with your family. The most common use of it is for backyard barbecue. And after each family gathering, it is easy to clean up especially the folding bench picnic table can be easily folded up and put away.

After you know what you are planning to make, you can then choose the right plans for the job. Choose plans that match your skill level. I've found it best to get plans that don't use a lot of woodworking terminology and explain everything in both words and pictures. Of course, it helps to get plans that were written by someone who speaks English as their native language.

I would also suggest you get a set of plans that cover a variety of projects instead of just one plan for a specific table. It works out to be much less expensive to purchase plans this way. Also, if your wife decides she wants something different, you'll already have the plans available for it. If you can find a set that has more than just picnic tables, you'll be able to use them for just about any project you can think of. And just think, if you get good enough at woodworking, you might be able to start your own business on the side!
