The FA Premier League (often referred to as the Barclays Premiership in the UK and the Barclays English Premier League or just simply The EPL internationally) is a football league competition for football clubs located towards the top of the English football league system pyramid, which makes it England's top football competition. It is the world's most watched domestic sporting league and most lucrative football league, followed by over a billion people worldwide.

The FA Premier League has steadily grown in popularity since its creation way back in 1992, the television rights for this exclusive league were offered to Sky Television. Sky TV has in no doubt been among the prime factors in the Premier League's success, and their marketing of the product is now renowned. Despite customers paying subscription charges, the Premier League has sold millions satellite dishes, and Sky have constantly marketed the Premier League as being 'the best league within the world'

Television has played a huge role in the reputation the FA Premier League. The money from television rights has been vital in helping to draw in a number of the world's top players. The League's decision to assign broadcasting rights to BSkyB in 1992 was at the time a radical decision, but one that has paid off over time.

At the time pay television was an almost unknown in the UK market, as was charging fans to view live televised football. However a mixture of Sky's strategy, the caliber of the football tallied with all the public's appetite with the game, has seen the value of the TV rights for the league soar year upon year to astronomical levels.

Holding an Premier League season ticket is like holding gold dust for most supporters from the league's top teams like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. According to which team you support, you may be able to get one immediately, however, for top supported clubs, you may be put on a waiting list. In some instances, it can be a number of years before you are in a position to obtain one.

They broke their previous unenviable record of 19 points in 2002-03, Putting this into perspective their whole team that season was outscored by simply one player from Arsenal, Thierry Henry
