Dogs in most part of the world are not just considered as pet but are counted as a member of the family. Louisiana veterinarians have witness most Americans on how they share their sentiments towards their pet. Dogs have just a special place in every man's heart that is why in most veterinaries dogs are of great number. The love of men towards their dog can be seen in how they treat them like human being, bringing them to clinics when sick or just for regular check up.

The amount of money most American spends for their dog is a sign that they value the animal more than just an animal and there are even instances that they prefer to live with their dogs than live with their family. According to studies most individual prefer to jog with their pet dog rather than with a family member.

The pet care industry now amounts to about forty-one billion dollars, an income that exceeds that of many third world and developing countries around the planet. Quite astonishing how having pets and the care they necessitate can cost this much. Sometimes it is not even about what they need anymore. It comes down to what their owners want or think is best for them.

Here comes the sad part, because most people wants the best for their dogs they do not realize that what they are doing is too much already and these people needs to realize that what they are treating are created to be pets and not replacement for family. It is still different to have someone who will not just bark unto you but instead will talk to you and will ask you if anything is alright and will share ideas with you.

However does this not just mirror the tendency for consumerism and overspending that has always been a nagging problem for Americans? Instead of spending unnecessary things on themselves like they used to, they now spend it on their pets. The spender's guilt might not be as sharp as it used to be since they are not necessarily spending on items for themselves, but it is nevertheless there. This does nothing to help the already huge debt problems many Americans face.

Pets do not need flashy and expensive items. They do not care for designer things the same way some humans do. They only need what is basic and essential. Food, water, a home, and most importantly love and compassion from their owners. Most of these require minimum cost. Americans could certainly learn a thing or two from their canine companions.
