Why social media? Why not social media! since 2005 social media has grown, more and more people are on websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus. MySpace does not count since Justin Timberlake bought a piece of it. Nobody cares when celebrities make dumb business decisions. Such as buying a industry that is failing horribly. A social media agency today however can have anywhere from a few million users, to over 700 million users, such as Facebook, and some of these sites can even become their own countries.

To forget social media in the modern times would be to ignore a big piece of what is the human population. Social media has erupted onto the scene in 2005, and since then has transformed the world we know. Thanks to the internet, people can now search for and find other people with similar interests that they otherwise would have never met. One such monster is Facebook who as of 2012 has over 700 million individual users. Amazing right?

Using social media to advertise is one of the greatest things you can do. Social media since 2005 has slowly been cutting away advertising from other sources such as print media, cable television, and radio advertising. It's one of the biggest reasons why big time news papers such as the New York Times are struggling, because nobody really want's to spend that kind of money advertising on something that nobody reads anymore. It's an amazing transformation within American society, as well as the world. For the first time people are instantly connected to people on the other side of the globe and can video chat in real time with someone they barely even know.

The social media revolution is one of the most pivotal moments in human history. The last time something on this scale had happened, the industrial revolution took place, and that took nearly 2 decades to change society. This revolution is transforming society sometimes within hours, even mere minutes, and over the course of a year things can change so drastically it's unrecognizable anymore. The thing is though, with Facebook, people can be more creative than ever, and with the assistance of technology we are beginning to see products transform and whole business plans shift.

The social media revolution is something that must not be avoided by the business world. Many industries have already taken advantage of the revolution and gone online years ago, creating Facebook pages, and Twitter hash tags to get their name out there. Avoid the social media world at your own peril however, its a place that is growing by the second.
